Born in 1993, INBEGRIFF
(which in German means Perfect Example) stands 16.3. This true
black Oldenburg Stallion scored 8.5 and was awarded Premium Foal Status at
his foal inspection. he is full brother to the Champion Premium mare, ISABEAU.
INBEGRIFF is by the German bred, Branded and
Approved Oldenburg Star Stallion, IDEAL out of a Premium Rated BOLD
RULLER xx Granddaughter - TODAY'S BEST- who scored 7.6 at her
inspection with 9's on head, frame and top line!
In
August of 1998 INBEGRIFF was approved by the Oldenburg Horse
Breeders Society with the stipulation that he attend the next 100 Day
Stallion Testing.
To
the left is a picture of INBEGRIFF being prepared for
the 100 Day Stallion Test being taken over jumps by Paul Savelsbergh
well known Oregon competitor and trainer. Paul is a protégé of
International Rider Rich Fellers.
Early in his jumping training,
here at the Ultimate Piaffe, INBEGRIFF displayed much of the same enthusiasm
for jumping as did IDEAL who received 9's on jumping at his 100 Day
Test
Sandy Howard, three time USET Rider and S rated Judge and
then Ultimate Piaffe Clinician, worked with Michelle and Darrel on a regime to
polish INBEGRIFF'S dressage technique prior to sending him off to
California for the 100 Day Test. All were satisfied with his progress and
agreed that our boy was ready, willing and able to take on the challenge.
You can imagine our surprise and disappointment when circumstances
developed which made it impossible for INBEGRIFF to complete the
100 Day Test. The full story is detailed below.
INBEGRIFF UPDATE
Many of you know that INBEGRIFF
went to Rancho Murieta to participate in the 100 day Stallion
Performance Testing. It is
literally 100 days of grueling training and conditioning in stadium
jumping, cross country jumping, galloping and basic gaits.
The 100 Day Performance Test gives mare owners information on
character, rideability, jumping ability and basic gaits on young
stallions. Stallion owners, who support the system send off their
valuable horses, spend thousands of dollars and really believe that the
information can help mare owners. It
is very difficult and there is always a chance that an injury or illness
will rob you of your horse. Anyone
who sends their stallions understands the risks and danger.
INBEGRIFF
completed the full 100-Day training period but due to an injury he was
unable to attend all of the training program or participate in the final
three days of the 2000 Test. Ekkehard Brysch of the ISR Oldenburg N.A.
registry who went to bat to make it possible for INBEGRIFF to be accepted
into the Rheinland Pfalz-Sarr International Registry, issued a statement
saying ..."in fairness to the stallion no training scores were given
or released for him. Brysch also wrote ..."INBEGRIFF" had times he
performed well, especially in jumping."
Upon return to Oregon
after the 100 Day Test a series of x-rays revealed a small but problematical fracture in a bone in his foot. Veterinary Specialists have
concluded there are no congenital or hereditary concerns. But, this injury
precluded INBEGRIFF having the opportunity to participate in any further
100 Day Stallion Tests or alternative evaluation.
Taking all of the facts
into consideration and based on information provided by the ISR Oldenburg
of N.A. registry from the 100 Day Testing and other criteria, The
Rheinland Pflaz-Saar International has decided to Approve
INBEGRIFF as a fully approved Breeding Stallion in their registry.
We are deeply grateful to the cooperation by the two prestigious
organizations which made this possible.

INBEGRIFF was
formally presented to Otto Schalter and other officials of the Registry on
September 27th at The Ultimate Piaffe. (Also presented was
INBEGRIFF'S Sire, IDEAL who
was also be entered into the R.P.S.I.
Registry.
INBEGRIFF OFFSPRING
ALL
OF INBEGRIFF'S OFFSPRING PRESENTED TO THE RPSI THUS FAR HAVE BEEN JUDGED
SILVER OR GOLD PREMIUM STATUS!
INBEGRIFF is a wonderful improvement sire and a gifted athlete with
excellent dressage movement and jumping ability. (See
pictures below.) He has produced some
exceptional offspring.
I'M LEGIT,
a colt out of CATINKA
one of
The Ultimate Piaffe's 3 Star imported mares, is sensational. The Hanoverian
mare is by the Trakehner Consul and
out of Werona by Werther. CATINKA
is a full sister to the dam of the stallion Regazzoni standing in Germany
and owned by Ingo Pape. I'M LEGIT (Guinness) received an 8.5 Gold
Premium Award in 2002 and placed 2nd in North America for the R.P.S.I.

Karin
Hunt of Shadysprings Farm of Portland, Oregon, has bred three fillies by INBEGRIFF
including INTERMEZZO and ILLUSIVE which are out of Valkarie, a Dutch
Warmblood mare. Both of the fillies received premium status with the
R.P.S.I. in 2002 and 2003.

ILLUSIVE,
(above) a Gold Premium 2003 filly, placed
in the top 5 fillies in North America for 2003 for the R.P.S.I.
INBEGRIFF has several registered offspring on the
ground. INTUITION a black filly and ILLUSIONS, a black gelding both bred by Karin Hunt of Shadysprings Farm Portland,
Oregon. And ISABELLE a bay filly bred by Dorthy
Sahlfeld
of Hillsboro, Oregon. In addition, INBEGRIFF has TORNADO a black gelding
owned by Karen Strobel of Arkport,
New York.

INTUITION the exquisite 1998 black Oldenburg cross
filly, INTUITION, was presented to the German Oldenburg's
inspector, Evelyn Vollstedt, in the summer of 1999. Evelyn was extremely
impressed with INTUITION'S enormous, elastic gaits and ground covering strides as well as her lovely
type and excellent health.
INTUITION is out of a Tennessee Walking horse mare who
doesn't "walk". RAVEN was herself a successful hunter/jumper and
produced
a successful dressage horse, IDLE GOSSIP by IDEAL (INBEGRIFF'S
sire).

INTUITION'S first time out
was at the Letter Perfect
Dressage Show Ridgefield, Washington. (4th of July Weekend.) INTUITION
won
the Three Year Old Filly Championship, Won the Brood Mare Championship,
was second in the Three Year Old Oldenburg Breed Class and Won the Three Year
Old Fillies Material Class. See Blue Ribbon Roundup ILLUSIONS, the 1998 black sibling of
INTUITION, has
matured into a big, classy, athletic boy. Karin sold ILLUSIONS
to
Evelyn Morley and he is now in training with Darrel Purdy of the Ultimate
Piaffe. ILLUSIONS will be shown in Dressage by Darrel in
2004. ILLUSIONS (Kahu) had a shot as a "producer" quite by accident
as a two year old in the pasture. OOPPS was the resulting offspring.
OPPPPPS!
Is the nick name of a marvelous filly owned by Karin Hunt of Shadysprings Farm in Portland. The 'unplanned' filly is a result of
ILLUSIONS getting together with one Karin's two year old mares.
When she was presented, at four weeks to Evelyn Vollstedt at the Oldenburg
Breeder's Society for a birth certificate, the inspector exclaimed,
"She is the best mover presented here today. I wouldn't mind having a
foal like this even if she can't have papers." By the way, the
fillies real name is Isla Marada. Photos by Scarlett
